Week of December 29, 2019 – January 4, 2020

Geographic Spread: Widespread flu activity

Influenza Activity: overall, decrease

  • Influenza was the most frequently identified respiratory viral pathogen during week ending 01/04/2020 followed by RSV.
  • The highest number of acute respiratory admissions during the week ending 12/28/2019 was for patients Age 0 – 4 year followed by ages 25-64 years

Flu-Associated Deaths in NC: 21 this season, 9 this week
