What
hours is Medac open?
Medac's
urgent care offices are open everyday from 8:00am until
8:00pm, including holidays. Our Corporate Health
office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am until
5:00pm.
Are appointments needed?
Appointments
are never needed at our urgent care offices. For
Corporate Health clients, appointments are preferred but not
required.
Are
doctors always on duty at Medac?
Medac's urgent care centers are staffed
during all operating hours by board certified, local physicians who have many years of experience in the urgent care setting and understand the unique needs of the
urgent care patient.
Does
Medac accept my insurance?
Because
of the wide variety of insurance payers, Medac is unable to
accept all insurance. We do, however, accept many of
the most common insurances available in our area.
These include:
If
you have an insurance that Medac does not file, you will
be given a standard insurance form and guidance in
filing your insurance claim. In addition, we
accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover,
in-state checks, traveler's checks, and cash.
Who
do I contact if I have a question about a bill I have
received?
If you have a
question about a bill or Explanation of Benefits (EOB) you
have received relating to services provided to you at Medac,
you can call our billing office at (910) 452-9553, or visit
our billing office at 3710 Shipyard Boulevard, in
Wilmington. You can also e-mail
your questions. Our billing office is open Monday
through Friday from 8:00am until 5:00pm.
I'm
starting a new job next week and need a physical exam, can
these be done at Medac?
Yes,
Medac can provide pre-employment physical exams. Medac
can also provide physical examinations for a variety of
other purposes such as:
- Annual
- DOT
/ Coast Guard / Merchant Marine
- Fit
for Duty
- Respirator
Fit
- School
(excluding
kindergarten)
- Sports
- Wellness
How
might my medical information be used and disclosed, and how
may I obtain access to this information?
Medac
complies with the provisions of the Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability Act, otherwise referred to as

I am
going out of town and my child will be staying with
grandparents. Can they bring my child to Medac for
treatment?
Yes. However, a signed Consent for Treatment is
necessary for Medac to provide treatment. You can
obtain information from the NC
General Statutes Article 4, 32A-28 through 32A-34
regarding giving consent. Or, you can simply download
the Consent
Form that is recommended by the North Carolina General
Statutes from our website.
